- IBrowse is beta software. It's NOT posted on aminet because of of that fact.
- You are warned before you even download the program that it is Beta, and that
- it will probley crash, and may even screw your hard drive up. I like how
- Ibrowse is released to anyone who wants to try it out now and not wait. Other
- programs have done this to. AmFTP and AmIRC are examples of this. Unlike
- IBrowse though, new Beta's of AmIRC and AmFTP were comming out all the time,
- weekly, sometimes the following day or 2 there would be a new version up.
- All three of these programs have there real Beta testers like other programs
- like AWEB. But unlike AWEB after the Beta people had there crack and finding
- any really bad bugs, the other programs would release the Beta's at a little
- later date so that there's a great many people with a wide selection of
- computers trying out of the program (If they want) to help find the bugs.
- This can get the program completed faster in the long run. Look how good
- Ibrowse has gotten in such a short period of time! Sure it has it's bugs,
- some peoples systems it's crashes a whole lot, on mine, I've forgotten the
- last time it acually crashed. It's getting there. Hey if you can find a bug
- that you can reproduce, report it, that's how it'll get fixed.
-
- Look at ALL the people that wanted there hands on a copy of AWEB before it
- finally got released. Everyone didn't want to have to wait. I guess there's
- only 1 programmer for Aweb, and getting Hundreds of Bug Reports from anyone
- would just be to much, with 60-70% of them probly being bad/un-helpful bug
- reports anyway.
